This Tommy has never experienced that first hand, but he's passionate about the inhumane treatment of humans and recognizes that the authority from which he profits is corrupt. Tommy Magnus believes strongly in doing what he can for the people that are in his care and wants to reform his society to be a place where everyone can feel safe and live freely.

POWER REASONING: Speed and electricity kind of go hand in hand. Tommy is a non-stop perpetual motion machine that never runs out of energy, and channeling that ability outwards offensively instead of using it inward to move faster makes sense for all that's currently going on in canon.

Powers/skills: Despite looking like your average teenage boy, Tommy is a mutant.
Tommy's mutant abilities all have to do with speed. His top speed is thought to breach the speed of sound (though this is not a speed he can maintain indefinitely). He can maintain a speed of roughly 175 miles per hour for a period of four hours without need to rest.
Along with that, Tommy can generate hyper-kinetic vibrations capable of destabalizing his molecules which allow him to move through solid objects. He can also use this ability to accelerate molecules in matter, causing it to explode.
His body is also considerably more durable than most. It's adapted to his superhuman speed, resulting in strong bones and a modified metabolic rate. He can heal at an accelerated rate and can take heavy impacts with minimal damage. The only major downside to this is if, say, a broken bone wasn't set properly it'll heal in a wonky way.
Tommy processes information much faster than the average person. He is, however, a little more in touch with them as he's had the benefit of being raised in a mostly loving family in contrast to his 616 counterpart. His tender side is reserved for special occasions and even then he tries to remain light and sarcastic when it comes up. Occasionally, if someone listens close, they may be privvy to a nugget of wisdom. Tommy knows enough to have strong opinions about the things he cares about and takes the responsibility of being a Prince seriously.
However, this doesn't mean that he is in any way a paragon of good. Tommy, despite his best intentions, is still often insensitive and callous with his words and loose with his decisions. If there is a less than legal way to get things done, he won't be the one objecting to it. In fact, chances are he's the one who brought it up - if you're a mutant able to run faster than cameras can follow, you're going to take advantage of that. Tommy's solution to most every problem is just to speed through it, or to create a big enough mess that the other party will be too busy cleaning it up to notice his escape.

In retrospect, it'd been a bad idea to let Wiccan try to get them out of a Shield trap. Sincerely. The worst they'd ever had. Worse than the time they'd try to bail out of family game night, worse than the time they'd burned their mom's favorite dress and tried to replace it with curtains, and definitely worse than the time he'd tried to take agent Rogue out on a date.
And that last one had landed him in a coma.
Still, shit had gone bad in a hurry. One second, Wiccan was holding onto him whispering his dumb little mantra (and he was whispering right along with him, like he usually did) and then suddenly the doors were bursting open and a word was misspoke and suddenly they weren't teleporting anymore. Wiccan gave a shout and he gave an equally alarmed cry and he pulls when Wiccan pushes and suddenly he was skidding across the ground, arse over teakettle again and again and again. His Magnus house finery was in shreds by the time he hit the tree, head spinning and dignity thoroughly dismantled. ]
